Hardboat Diving

Hard boat dives are taking place midweek evenings between April and September…

Tuesday

Diving the Tyne area wrecks aboard local dive boat “Spellbinder II”, skippered by ex-commercial fisherman Alan Lopez.

Chartered by BSAC Tyneside 114 branch; we have an open agreement for any places they can’t fill and occasionally helping out with boat marshalling.

Depth ranges between 10 ~ 35m depending on the qualifications and experience of those onboard on the day.

This year we’ve enjoyed some stunning visibility, often reaching double figures.

Sites visited so far include…

  • SS Mars
  • SS Eston
  • SS Pollion
  • SS Renin
  • SS Oslo/Chandris
  • SS Blairhall
  • MV Elise
  • SS Albia

Site visited so far include…

  • Whirl Rocks
  • Knivestone
  • Blue Caps
  • SS Somali
  • The Hopper
  • North Wameses
  • SS Coryton
