The Pilgrim Club is an educational adventure club founded in 2003 by John Cutting.

Supporting young people and children living in Shildon and Ferryhill in County Durham in the United Kingdom.

The club helps encourage and give young people the opportunity to improve their communication skills, experience teamwork, problem solving, improve their self reliance, self esteem, obtain a better understanding and respect of the environment, countryside, evaluate their own capabilities, potential leadership and other qualities.

More than twenty members from The Pilgrim Club  experienced scuba all thanks to Members of Bishop Auckland Sub-Aqua Club

We took Pilgrim Club members to our pool training facility at Woodhouse Close Leisure Centre
swimming baths and allowed six young members to attend their Monday night sessions.  Starting off with an induction course from training officer Sue Blanch.  A introduction into the safe use of the equipment, a brief history about diving and how to communicate under water was given.  This was followed by an hour long Experience Scuba session
